A shady lane...did you walk the path? It looks delightful!

Vieni, c'è una strada nel bosco,
il suo nome conosco,
vuoi conoscerlo tu?
...

(Come, there is path in the woods
I know its name
do you wish to know it?)
This romanza (La strada nel bosco), usually sung by the Tuscan baritone Gino Bechi (1913-1993), comes to mind...

What a nice shape the flowering tree makes over the walkway. You caught a perfectly beckoning sight.

What an inviting path. Is that a white rhodie?
Have a great weekend!

@VP: thanks for the translation but I would have understood! I don't, however, believe I know Gino Bechi. Funny though, I was listening to (and singing along) Verdi yesterday!

@Don and Krise: yes, white and pink rhododendrons. They become huge trees in Cornwall.

That is quite the most beautiful lane I have seen lately.

I have the issue of "breast feeding" on my main blog today Pick a Peck of Pixels

@ ciel - Sorry, I thought your Italian was like my French...
Bechi was one of the greatest Italian baritones of the time: he left very few records (a Nabucco with maria Callas) but many movies.
Now I want to know which opera you were listening/singing...

@VP: Il Trovatore (Callas-di Stefano-Scala 56) and then a bit of Bellini. Ebe Stignani e Maria Callas nel duetto Adalgisa-Norma (il duetto che mi piace di più).

@VP: P.S.: I don't like Nabucco...

VP said...

@ ciel - I agree with everything. Bellini is great, I love I Puritani. Nabucco is boring (except the choir).

I wish rhododendrons did that well here in Ontario. Where I grew up (New England in the US) they grew wild in the woods. But I fear I didn't appreciate them back then.
