My camera seems to have become an extension of my amateur photographer eyes! All photos prior to 2007 are scanned and were taken with a Fuji camera.

That Big Sky and that Flat Land just seem to go on and on!

That is wonderful scenery. I grew up in California and I've been to all of the Wesrern states except Oregon and Alaska. I want to see both someday.

Love this view! It almost looks like a movie set made up of miniature buildings.

I think I remember that, but I'll have to look back at my photos or at Google Earth. I don't get into the high Oregon desert/farm country often, and I don't know which highway I was on without looking :) I have a tug for you today on Astoria DP.

Welcome back! What a strange slice of land, it looks almost extraterrestrial. An impressive view and a beautiful image.
By chance, I have a tug for you either, yesterday!

@ VP: extraterrestrial? Are you okay? ;-)

Looks like you were out in the middle of nowhere! This could be a scene from many places in the midwest or west.

Beautiful shot.

Welcome back! I'm sure that you had a great time. And no, I won't be reading much of anything in French...merci very much! Wish I could!

Great perspective, the expanse of sky lends a real isolation to the photo.
I like your idea of two blogs. I've got my Tucson blog, but have other photos that I don't know what to do with - you've got me thinking.

On sent ton amour pour les fermes americaines..
Moi, ce sont ces grands espaces qui me font fantasmer.

I am familiar with the name of Hermiston but haven't been there myself. Great capture of the grain elevators and the bridge in the background.

Aaii! I lived in Hermiston, too! They are destroying 11 percent of the Nation's chemical weapons at the Depot there. When I live there, I had an emergency radio & a "shelter in place kit" in case anything went wrong at the depot. The kit & radio were provided by the town... a little eerie to say the least.
