I wonder what the "saint" is supposed to be saying? Probably warning people of the consequences of being outside the church? :-)

I always wonder at the pose of these Saints in a niche, and this one is much better than something we have around here.

Tiens, je ne savais pas qu'il y avait un Avallon en France!Je ne connaissais que celui du roi Arthur, que je situais outre-manche..
Par rapport aux autres coms: il y a tout un language des signes pour les statues et tableaux du moyen-âge; J'ai lu un bouquin là-dessus, c'est passionnant!
