Only in the USA would a river be named for someone who got lost and bumped into it by accident.

Quite a river, though...long, no dams, lots of flora and fauna and fishies.

One thing I love about living in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States is surprises like this. The country is dry and unremarkable, then you drive over a river and encounter a scene which takes your breath away! I'm glad I followed the link from your post of the bridge, the two together illustrate exactly what I mean.
