This is the left bank part of Pont Neuf completed in 1607 with the Louvre palace as background. Sunday Bridge Series is this way.

The whole American continent was more or less sleeping while there was so much action going on in the Old World... Interesting to think about it... Very nice shot from a perfect position... France has so many wonderful bridges over the Seine, Loire, etc., we need to see more! :)
God bless you!

I agree with everything said above, but isn't this the shorter left bank side?

where are the boats?

I like your header, half of the house looks like build into the soil.

That beautiful bridge could tell a LOT of stories if it could speak.

Isn't it elegant? I hadn't realised it is so old.

Ah! One of «Louis'» favorite bridges in Paris! This bridge was built and completed under the orders of Henri IV, a good king (with a treacherous wife) whose reign was ended by an assassin nearby on rue Ferronnerie.

Oh, goodie....I recognize this bridge and the Louvre Palace in the background. You have captured this scene perfectly. It is like I am actually there. The people alongside that beautiful water add so much to the composition. This is a favorite of mine from the shots published today.

This looks like a rather 'heavy' bridge design, but I like how the arches continue over the promenades.

Paris is so full of nice bridges. You have an endless supply! :)

Thanks for linking my bridges while I was gone. Trying to get caught up now. Ugh!

I recently discovered a bridge Becky found last year that has similar 'turrets' protruding from the bridge. While walking over the bridge, you can step into this 'turret' to admire the view. I have a posting scheduled for tomorrow with the bridge.

I assume this is some sort of architectural style. Very cool! I just realized I've been missing your Sunday Bridges - I was looking at the other blog, duh.
