This image has a painting-like quality, great colors and a wonderful light. I'd like to know the use for the strange boats on the bottom right corner, those with the benches: some kind of tourist-carriers?

A truly bucolic scene. As VP says, it has "a painting-like quality." In fact, any of France's major impressionists would be hard pressed to paint a picture that matches this one!

I agree. There was something about this photo, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. You're both right. It does remind me of a painting. Interesting, and a very relaxing feel to this.

@ VP: spot on! There was even a busload of Japanese tourists taking their tours of the Marais Poitevin, the marshes of Poitou.

@ ciel - You are probably right, but this 'painting' of yours reminds me of some Monets at Vétheuil mixed with the Sisleys of the flood at Pont-Marly. Just to play around a bit...
