The entrance of Maintenon castle, which I was showing you here, with a bridge over the moat is this week's contribution to Louis la Vache's Sunday Bridge Series.

I really love those turrets, and it's just perfect with the leaves giving life and color in the foreground.

A castle, a moat, a bridge---these things fairy tales are made of.

Regarding Huckleberries: The red is a true Huckleberry it is wild and native to the Pacific Coast. It gtows in most Conifer woods. There are some that are blue and one variety that is black.
Vaccinium parvifloium is the one I posted. and they are yummy and if you picked a ton you could make a pie or wonderful jam. MB

I imagine King Louis 14th's heart lifting as he rode over the bridge to meet his secret love.

Let's say that the bridge is not the finest part of the caste, but your picture is able to get the best of it. Nice framing and great background!

We've drawn so many possible routes to do along the Loire Valley but not yet put it to practice. :( Now it's about end of summer, not sure if we do it soon now. But it's certainly an area on top of our must-visit list!
God bless you!
