I like this shot. The lighting is great with the shadows, sunlight, and fire, plus you caught him in action!

Excellent photo. I've not heard of anything like this...a medieval market in Germany in December...we have lots of Renaissance fairs here but they are always in the fall.

This looks like a very well-done demo. It's nice to see how things were done. Beautiful photo of the scene.

I have seen several funny imitations of something like this, but this is the one closest to what, in my mind, was the reality then.

Ciel, Only in Astoria! You really know how to catch my attention when I'm supposed to be working :) I've added a photo showing the spelling on that sign very clearly. I also noticed online that local businesses use one or the other spelling - they don't agree. So it may be a sign-maker's mistake, but some of the settling population being Norse, and very much of it being Scandinavian, one would think it would have been corrected. The sign also leaves out the "c" in Ericson and changes it to a "k," which is a Norse variation. I did not see any "Lief" spellings online except in Astoria. Now I'm going to have to look at all of the signs for this street! Maybe later, I'll consult some of our Norwegian DP bloggers. Thanks for the diversion :)
